Psychotherapy Services
At Lisa Hackel, PhD, we believe that each person's story is unique, and we strive to bring clarity to our clients' experiences by helping them identify and mobilize areas of strength and resilience. Our psychotherapy services focus on depression, anxiety, relationship issues, and other areas of difficulty, with the understanding that therapy can help people draw on their strengths, improve coping strategies, and gain an understanding of themselves and their situation. Family Mediation Services
We specialize in family mediation services, specifically in the areas of divorce and custody issues. As a Child Specialist in the divorce mediation process, we understand the importance of keeping the focus on the wellbeing of children during the separation process. We offer coparenting counseling to help separating and divorced parents communicate more effectively in making decisions about their children. Our goal is to minimize conflict and help parents forge a new relationship that is focused on their children's best interests.
Parenting Coordination Services
Our parenting coordination services help parents in high conflict situations to implement their parenting plans and focus on the developmental needs of their children. We understand that conflict can have a negative impact on children, and we strive to provide a neutral and supportive environment for parents to work through their differences and prioritize their children's needs.
Background and Experience
Dr. Lisa Hackel has extensive experience and training in the area of separation and divorce, as well as a Certificate in Bioethics and Medical Humanities. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Epidemiology and Population Health at Albert Einstein Medical School, where she teaches Bioethics to medical students. Additionally, she has worked extensively throughout her career with individuals and families who are experiencing serious health challenges, loss, and grief.
