At Buffalo Psychology Group, we are dedicated to providing comprehensive psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals in Western New York. Our team of experienced professionals specializes in Cognitive-Behavioral (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment (ACT) Therapies, which are scientifically supported treatment methods for improving and strengthening thinking, emotional, and behavioral actions. Our goal is to help individuals enhance their personal effectiveness, improve relationships, and reduce negative emotional states such as anxiety, depression, anger, and frustration.
Our Services
We offer a range of services, including individual therapy and Cognitive Skill Training, tailored to address various specialties such as anxiety, depression, worry, social anxiety, obsessive-compulsiveness, stress/anger, marital conflict, and personal effectiveness. Our therapists are experienced in working with adults and utilize evidence-based techniques to promote positive change. We also provide educational resources and support for self-improvement, as well as access to our experienced therapists for more severe or persistent issues.
Meet Our Team
Our team is led by Dr. Thomas E. Unger, Ph. D., who has over 30 years of experience in CBT and ACT Therapies. Dr. Unger received his Bachelor's degree from the State University of New York at Binghamton and his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from the State University of New York at Buffalo. He is affiliated with various professional organizations, including the American Psychological Association and the Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies. Our administrative partner, Candice P. Unger, B.S.N., M.S., brings a background in psychiatric nursing and counseling, as well as experience in managing healthcare facilities.
Locations and Payment Options
We have two convenient locations in Williamsville and Buffalo, making it easy for you to access our services. We accept various forms of payment, including insurance plans such as Independent Health, Community Blue, and Medicare, as well as HSA and Flex Benefit cards. Payment is due at the time of service, and we do not participate in EAP benefits.
