At Buwalda Psychological Services, PLLC, our mission is to provide a positive environment that promotes social, emotional, and behavioral growth for children, adolescents, adults, couples, and families. We are committed to providing high-quality intervention, consultation, and assessment services to our clients. Our dedicated team of licensed clinical psychologists, therapists, postdoctoral residents, interns, and practicum psychology students work together to ensure that every individual receives the best possible care.

Our Services

Our team of experts offers a range of therapeutic and evaluation services, including:

  • Therapeutic intervention for children, adolescents, adults, and couples to address various mental health concerns such as trauma, anxiety, depression, and substance abuse
  • Psychological evaluations, psychosexual evaluations, neuropsychological evaluations, bonding/best interest evaluations, risk assessments, and competency evaluations to assess individuals' cognitive, emotional, and behavioral functioning
  • Integrative therapy approaches to address specific needs, including social skills development, emotional regulation, and identity formation
  • Assessment and treatment of mental health disorders, substance abuse, and related issues

Meet Our Staff

Our team of highly skilled professionals includes:

  • Katrina Buwalda Psy. D., CSOTS, DBTC, CCTP, a licensed psychologist with extensive experience in working with children, adolescents, and adults
  • Elizabeth Capps-Conkle Psy. D., LMFT, CETP, a licensed psychologist with expertise in therapeutic intervention and interpersonal relationships
  • Kelly Rodriguez Psy. D., C SOTP, a licensed psychologist with training in substance abuse treatment and trauma-informed care
  • Eric Popilek, a polygraph examiner with expertise in forensic psychology
  • Brandi Pinckard, MBA, our administrative coordinator, who ensures our daily operations run smoothly

Training Opportunities

We offer training opportunities to graduate-level practicum students, internships, and postdoctoral trainees to assist them in becoming licensed psychologists and/or licensed therapists. Our training programs cover topics such as dialectical behavioral therapy, evidence-based trauma treatment, neuroscience, attachment-focused therapy, mindfulness techniques, ABEL Assessment, sex offender treatment, and MAP treatment.
