Embrace Change, Transform Your Life
Welcome to our practice, where we prioritize your mental health and well-being. Our team is led by a Milwaukee psychologist who is board certified in psychoanalysis by the American Board of Professional Psychology. With over 30 years of experience in private practice, our psychologist has made significant contributions to psychology on a national level and is a Fellow of the American Psychological Association and the American Academy of Psychoanalysis.
We are committed to providing innovative and collaborative psychodynamic techniques that make the change process more interactive and effective. Our practice is built on the belief that psychotherapy or psychoanalysis are not passive activities, but rather require a strong therapist-client relationship based on comfort, ease of communication, and collaboration.
Services Offered
At our practice, we offer psychotherapy and psychoanalysis services for individuals and couples. We see clients/patients a minimum of once per week for psychotherapy and twice per week for psychoanalysis. Our approach promotes a safe, structured, and predictable environment that allows patients to consciously and unconsciously anticipate the opportunity to temporarily let down their defenses. This helps patients experience buried emotions associated with the problems of living they are currently bringing to treatment, leading to increased self-awareness, emotional integration, maturity, and a sense of control over one's life.
Our practice specializes in helping patients with a variety of issues, including:
- Anxiety, including frequently under-diagnosed separation anxiety
- Depression
- Guilt and shame
- Difficulties with managing and expressing emotions
- Problems with maintaining relationships
- Problems with authority figures (usually job-related)
- Companion fears of success and failure
- Marital problems (we see both individuals and couples)
- Grieving and loss
- Identity issues
While we are not trained to work with children or people with current addiction problems, current eating disorders, or psychotic disorders, we are happy to refer patients with these issues to specialists in those areas.
At our practice, we strive to create a safe and comfortable environment where patients can feel free to express themselves and work towards positive change. We believe that the therapist-client relationship is the foundation of successful therapy, and we are committed to building strong, collaborative relationships with each of our patients.
Thank you for considering our practice for your mental health needs. We look forward to working with you.
