How We Work
Psychotherapy is an interpersonal, relational intervention used by trained psychotherapists like ourselves to aid clients in problems of living. We help individuals understand the connections between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By identifying and managing negative thought patterns and behaviors, we empower clients to cope with difficult situations in a more effective and healthier way.
Types of Psychotherapy
While various psychotherapies are employed in our practice, some of the major approaches we may use include:
- Psychoanalytic (Object Relations) theory, which suggests that people's adult relationships and behaviors are shaped by early childhood experiences.
- Cognitive-Behavioral therapy, which involves changing negative thoughts and maladaptive behaviors through cognitive and behavioral techniques.
- Solution-Focused Therapy, which focuses on the present and future, envisioning the client's preferred future and identifying strengths and resources to achieve the desired goals.
- Client-Centered Therapy, which relies on the client's self-healing capacity and promotes growth and healing through a non-judgmental and empathetic approach.
- E.M.D.R. Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing Therapy, an effective treatment for trauma, depression, anxiety, and other serious mental health disorders.
Telehealth and Fees
We offer in-person and telehealth sessions, with fees as follows:
- Standard 50-minute individual session: $170.00
- Couples and family session: $200.00
- E.M.D.R. sessions (per hour): $200.00 (no insurance coverage)
