Services
We provide depression therapy in Chicago for those experiencing persistent sadness, heaviness, or emotional numbness affecting daily functioning. Depression can impact energy, motivation, and relationships while making everyday life feel difficult. Through psychodynamic talk therapy, we explore underlying emotional and relational factors shaping your experience. We aim to support understanding, relief, and renewed well-being.
Trauma can shape emotions, relationships, and self-perception in profound ways. In our practice, we focus on trauma and complex trauma therapy that addresses these lasting impacts with care and professionalism. We guide individuals in recognizing triggers, understanding bodily responses, and developing healthier coping strategies, supporting a gradual and safe process of healing and integration here.
We understand loss in a broad sense, including endings, transitions, and experiences of trauma or change that reshape how life is understood. Grief can arise from many circumstances and is unique to each person. Our counseling helps individuals process these experiences, accept their impact, and explore their meaning. There is no fixed timeline for healing.
We approach therapy for self-esteem as a relational and reflective process aimed at revising deeply held internal narratives. Rather than focusing solely on surface-level change, we attend to how you experience yourself in relationships, including fears of being seen and desires for acceptance, allowing new emotional experiences to gradually emerge.
We approach shame therapy as a collaborative process aimed at addressing long-standing patterns of self-criticism and emotional withdrawal. Shame is understood as a learned response from earlier relational experiences. Through a supportive therapeutic relationship, we help clients reconnect with disavowed needs, develop self-understanding, and soften entrenched internal judgments over time within a structured clinical setting.
We offer LGBTQ+ Therapy designed to support individuals seeking a thoughtful and affirming space to understand themselves more fully. We recognize how social experiences and internal dynamics can influence emotional well-being. Therapy is offered as a collaborative process that encourages reflection, emotional awareness, and a more integrated sense of identity over time at a pace.
Many of the ways men learn to function develop as adaptations to early expectations and environments. Prioritizing performance over emotional awareness may have supported success and stability, yet over time these patterns can restrict intimacy and emotional depth. Therapy helps identify these long-standing patterns and understand how they continue shaping current experience in adulthood today
Clients often experience challenges across relationships, including family, friends, partners, and colleagues. We provide a professional setting to explore difficulties with boundaries, expressing needs, and managing anxiety in connection. Relationships can feel both meaningful and complicated, and we help individuals better understand their patterns, needs, and emotional responses within them in a supportive environment setting
We offer anxiety therapy to help you make sense of overwhelming emotions, persistent worry, and internal distress. By examining both the symptoms and their deeper origins, we support you in uncovering meaningful insights about your experiences. Our work together aims to reduce the weight of anxiety, enhance your understanding of personal triggers, and help you build a more stable and authentic sense of self.

My colleague Santiago Delboy has built a psychotherapy practice unlike many others. The focus is to promote a humanistic model of treatment, namely a psychodynamic approach, which centers the whole person rather than a set of symptoms. With determination and compassion, Santiago and his associates aim to treat and honor the suffering of the individuals served at Fermata. In addition, the team is engaged in an ongoing learning and development process that should serve as inspiration for other like group practices to do the same!
